Two hundred hours of flight time in a cheaper plane still cost over $8000 in fuel and over $1000 in hanger not even to add up maintenance. If you want to own it darn sure fly it don’t leave it in the hanger to rot. Now if this is not about money I would get a Malibu a step up in stead of down A lot of Debonair pilots were just offended!

Uh, yea, and saw you at your hangar. Am I missing something or is this a test?

Sorry Aubrey, my bad, I must have been speed reading or You are certainly not Aubey for which, I assume, we are both grateful. Now, I better 'cause the real "Aubey" is going to come gunning. Now to your question Aubrey, yes. I was delivering the wife of a friend up there to catch the commuter to Nashville. Aubey saw me, called, and I taxied over to his hangar for a visit. Jg

My Debonair just got too expensive when I retired. My son talked me into a RV-8 partnership. Absolutely fell in love with it. Both ex-military pilots and we felt at home. Best flying GA airplane I've ever flown. Sold it when people wanted it more than we did. Bought a beautiful RV-7 and love it just as much. These are great, strong, fast airplanes (180 knot cruise for our 7) that you can go places with and do aileron rolls all the way there if that's your thing. The economics of these makes a lot of sense also. I'll always have an RV now and would never consider going back to certified.

This must be a trick question. I’d get a second job, mortgage the house, and send the kids to public school. Right?

Marv Rogge's Myers has an IO-550 too.... That would be a cool plane.
