BS advice from people who have never seen one Kitfox is a fine airplane and handles great. You don't sell that many of something that has big vices It's just that the early models are a bit small for my taste. Starting with the "5" they are a little bigger and can fit more engine options to include the O-200
Hard to go wrong with a champ too, but the folding wing sure makes the kitfox attractive.

The demand is very high right now. I ordered mine before Oshkosh and at that time the delivery time was estimated at the end of February for the kit. If you want them to build it completed John the owner said they where 4 1/2 years out. If you want a weekend of fun and a feel for the plane book some time with stick and rudder in Idaho, they train in them. http://stick-rudder.com/index.php

Major changes from 3-4, and 4- later. I probably wouldn't look at one earlier than model 4. What he said. I own a model 2. They are quite a bit cheaper for a reason. Max Gross is 950# versus 1200# on a model 4. Rudder is too small. Neutral stability about the yaw axis, in other words, it is just as happy to fly in a full slip as coordinated, you have to actively put the ball in the middle constantly. Very pronounced adverse yaw makes that pursuit even more interesting. But all that makes it fun to fly. Most of that was fixed by the model 4. The mayor had me land it in the town soccer field last month for Touch a Truck Day.

I wonder if that is what the guy I was talking to was referencing. ? Also, what about a Rans Coyote (S-6)? Anyone know of these?

Chris, My friend's C140 is still for sale, though not advertised. I just spoke to Ken this morning in fact. Even at the price he's asking, it's probably a lot cheaper than a decent Kitfox. viewtopic.php?f=43&t=151240
