If I need doors and kitchens or sofas in my house i will buy in Europe, if I need a turboprop or jet plane I will buy Made in the US, USA is the number one aviation country in the world. I want an American plane and I believe that Denali will be successful.
Check where your plane is made.

The Denali is a copy of a Swiss plane. Ha.

That said... I think being "privately owned" goes a long way for innovation nowadays.

LOL Vitali.

The US is not the aviation superpower anymore.
Between Daher (France), Pilatus (Swiss), Phenom (Brazil), Cirrus (China), Quest (Japan) they have the cool stuff & innovation.

If you want quality & innovation go global, for the same old stuff by american planes.

For anyone who wants empirical evidence of twin engine drag, look at the travel air with 360HP. Fuselage-wise it's debonair. How fast would a deb go with 360HP ? I think we can all agree it would be a lot faster than the 165 knots you get with the fastest of NA travel airs.

Phenom - Built in Florida
Daher - Program started and sold by Mooney (USA)
Cirrus - Founded, designed and built in the USA, the chinese own the stock, literally it.
Quest - Founded, designed and built in Idaho (USA), sold to Japanese holding company.

If anything we should recognize the rest of the world's stupidity in investing in general aviation companies. With few exceptions its a terrible investment (lmao bombardier).

Marc, Where is the engine of your airplane from? What about the avionics? Can you find me a GA engine in mass production that isn't from the USA?

Why'd you leave Pilatus off your list?

Question: Would a Cessna SETP have access to more authorized service centers than Pilates?

For many years I worked for companies that had biz jets, and selecting one that had convenient access to authorized maintenance facilities was a factor that certainly might tip the decision one way or the other between similar candidates.

Definitely having a SC close by for an in warranty aircraft tips the scales. Plus Pilatus from what I hear really wants to keep control of their aircraft, so getting work done other places may not be possible. Fortunately SETP's usually require very little work between annuals so is less of an issue than a piston. The Pilatus SC network is pretty robust in the US though.

Does this indicate that Greenpoint in Denton, Texas is no longer a service center?

I had heard that, but nothing came up in a Google search, we used them for a Pilatus prepurchase inspection last year and then after closing discovered they overlooked an airworthiness issue, asked them to make it right and they refused... it was $1300! Considering the invoice was well over $100k I was surprised at their attitude.

Its hard to believe anyone would go out of business in our current cycle, most shops have airplanes on the ramp just waiting to get in! Thanks for confirming!

When did Greenpoint go out of business?!? We had our Pilatus there less than three months ago.

There is another shop currently talking to Pilatus about becoming a service center, but I am not at liberty to say who it is.
