I know someone who needs a type rating checkride soon, does anyone have any recommendations for someone that is in Nebraska or somewhere in the Midwest?

This person has been training in the aircraft with an instructor? Ask the instructor.

There's a DPE here in KC that I believe is qualified on them. Let me ping him and find out.
Yep, he is.

Super nice guy, been flying longer than most of us have been alive. Used to be a test pilot for King Radio, has a million and one great stories to tell.

Looks like he needs a CE-560 rated DPE, not a CE-500, or at least that how I understood it.

Is there a "CE-560" type rating?

There is a "CE-560XL" for the Excel, but I though the V/Ultra required only the CE-500 type rating.

We didn’t have a DPE in the Midwest. All our jet check rides were at CAE in Dallas. Sorry man.

I used this company one time for recurrent and was happy.

Check with the insurance company first, they may require sim training.

For an initial type rating, I would highly recommend going to Flightsafety or even Simcom. You get to do a lot you wouldn't do in the airplane. I think the cost is well worth it for the first time.

I'll second Sean's suggestion. Ron does a lot of Citation work in the midwest, including training for military guys flying "military" Citations. He's a phenomenal guy (I did every checkide, except my initial CFI, with Ron).
