Saw this on another thread. Not my picture either. Apparently N881AG flew today at Duluth. Registered as an EX18...will this be a future SR-18? Looks a bit smaller than an SR-20, and a new tail design. If this is Cirrus making a cheaper trainer, to help replace the older 150s/172s that are aging, then bravo. Cirrusly, good on them. I’m curious if anyone else has details.

it would be nice to see a picture with enough resolution to make out the exhaust - might give a clue as to the powerplant

Maybe it is something really reliable like a Lycoming IO-360. ...but I am guessing a diesel.

I think your first inclination is correct- IO360 in the SR 18 going after the 172. Send your sales people out to all the Cessna pilot centers who are already comfortable with the IO360 and sell them a new airframe with same old engine they’re already know. Swap them all to Cirrus pilot centers.

Username Protected wrote: SR20 Pilot window is more trapezoidal shape compared to rhomboid SR20 window. EX18 rear window more triangular than quadrilateral. SR20 Wing is maybe set a little further back with respect to the cabin and (?) less dihedral. Nose gear is different. Horizontal stabilizer placed further back w/r/t rudder. I’m having a really hard time seeing any difference in those two planes...if the pics were taken from the same side and same camera angle, paint was the same, and both had wheel pants...are you sure they’re different??

On the mystery ship, the lower sill rises towards the back, and the back side of the window is shorter than the front. Somehow I can't see what you're seeing. Why would they make such minimal changes to a proven design?
