I guess there wasn't a pre-buy inspection either?

We bid on it(much lower than it went!), people lose their minds in auctions! We are 90% sure it sold to the owner as he was just bidding it up. That bird was on the market for $950, then they lowered the price to $860k. It's got new motors, but still needs props and a 600 hour, so plan on $50k as soon as you bought it!

How would your plane end up on an auction site? Bank liens, lawsuit judgement ?

Buyer was not the owner, buyer is a BT member who has past mu2 experience. Not going to identify the member unless it’s their interest to be known. Keep in mind before this went to auction it was listed for 980k so if you consider that starting price the actual price was not too far out of line. :duck:

I love my MU-2, I really do but for the loot this Solitaire went for, my Citation V with its soon to be upgraded Jet Tech glass panel is an extreme bargain. In fact, all the legacy Citations are an extreme bargain and the savings would have bought many many years of the spread in Jet fuel burn.

Maybe this means my F model is worth more than I thought!

I was scared of the Mu-2 when i was looking at twins. Probably for good reason as I was new to twins. Now that I have some twin time in my 421 I look at the MU-2 and it seems like a great plane. Like anything it needs to be flown correctly and you need to be properly trained but man its hard to beat performance, value, and cabin size. I have found myself drooling over them lately. Sure would love 300+ knots cruise speeds.

The mu2 ruins all other planes. Nothing else like it. Just total beast.

Yeah. It seems the bidders forgot to look at other mu2s on the market. You could easily snag a better bird for the same or less.

Matt, could You clarify a Little.................Cuz that sounded like a KICK in the Nut Bag :bugeye:

Long body for less on MSP, that's what I'm saying. Engines under warranty... lots of value there.

700k for that auction -40 with NEW-NEW engines and that panel is a great start on a forever airplane.

Our mission was short body like that one listed and nothing else fit the bill. Short body is hangar friendly, light and sexy.

Not sure I would choose a Marquis over a 200 (or the dozen other great options that $750k could buy you if you had room to store such a size plane.

Plus nearly 70k in auction fees, then taxes. I'm not saying it was not a fair deal, just personally would have gone long body with -10's on MSP.

MSP for Garrets is a crazy rip-off. Not sure where they get their fantasy numbers from, but you're essentially paying $1 mill for $500K overhauls when all is said and done. It's a sucker's deal.

Agree. Which is why it is very rare to see an MU2 on MSP.
