I was browsing plane listings and much to my surprise found many Cirrus Jet positions for sale. One as soon as August. Why is That?
Bought on speculation?.

We want one.......

Speculation is my guess. How do the prices compare to buying a position through Cirrus?

They announced the jet, what - 10 years ago? I suspect a lot of people bought on anticipation. At this point they either buy a jet or flip the position for a tidy profit. Probably hard to predict a decade in advance whether your budget, mission and desires all align SF50.

Indeed.
It’s like a ticking clock.
I want to do it all before I can’t anymore....

Well, I’m sure a lot of people want to bid on Red Bo when the time comes!

Or will you be the first to own a matching set of Beech and Cirrus V-tails?

I don’t think you could paint a plastic plane that color

Nice. If it was mine I would be afraid to do that, but it does look good.

Two positions for sale are mostly red! :bugeye:

To spend the kids inheritance or not to, that is the question.....

That’s assuming I’m good enough of a pilot to earn the rating.......

Why? Heat build-up?
They’ve been painting Cirri for years without issues it seems.....

For a long time they had to be white on top. Not sure when or what changed.

I absolutely, positively, 100% guarantee you that the SF-50 is at least 50% easier to fly than the Red Bo is. After you get used to thinking 50% faster anyway. Systems will be new and different but they are logical to a mechanical minded person. Engine management much less of a factor, set it and (nearly) forget it.

Disclaimer, no SF-50 time but plenty of turbine time.

"Easier to fly" is not the same as "easy to pass check ride".

A jet type rating is held to ATP standards and you got to know a lot of stuff. The actual flying the thing by hand is just a small part of being a jet pilot.
