Mike apparently confused Skyhawk JT-A - which was certified in 2017 - with Skylane JT-A, which, indeed, had issues with certification. In this instance Textron killed a fully certified airplane, so the reason had to be different. Like the strategic decision to end all piston airplane production, perhaps.
