do it on grass. Easy on your tires and better real-world practice.

I always wondered if the VG's contributed to that. They really made a lot of difference in low speed handling, since the wing worked at much lower airspeed and higher angles of attack.

I did this exercise every year for 11 years. Only spotted twice and both times light on fuel with only two on board.

Getting back to the thread topic, maybe there's something to the Seneca V chart after all. Can't mash the brakes as hard when the plane is light.

Could it be because the extra 1 ton of weight will side load the gear on taxi and cause it to collapse?
