Not sure but suspect the video is mostly animation. Noting this is a California based company makes me wonder if Google is funding this in New Zealand, the rotor system looks similar to that seen in pictures of Google V operations in Hollister, Ca. A lot of high tech money being thrown at these things, range of 100 Kilometers, with some safety reserve this may give 40-50 mile range. I trust all the effort being put into these projects will drive battery energy density up. There are many battery powered hand tools being used today that no one would believed would be practical twenty years ago. Google airplane: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOwluq4iMH4

Ironic when Bonanza pilots talk like this, have you seen our crash talk thread? All those plane loads of people falling from the sky, no electric ones, yet. Greg

Obviously the electricity has to come from somewhere, but sit in your garage for a hour with Cora running and then for a hour with your Bonanza, then tell me how you feel. Please don’t try this at home, just trying to make a point. It’s a big deal at buildings and hospitals I work at with helipads trying to keep Helicopter exhaust fumes from the building air intakes.

Not magically to the wall socket, But your state is the leader in wind and solar with almost 20% of your power coming from magically free sources. Greg

Greg Good point, never thought of that. I did read that one of the German companies was trying to do a small, one person drone, to evacuate hurt people and send them to the hospital directly. Pretty cool project. Often choppers can't land in weather, and Paramedics can't get out fast enough because of traffic. The writing is on the wall, and it is coming. But we are a long ways away for large ships. "0" emission is such a ridiculous term. Needs to be revised to right "Deferred Emission" The carbon footprint of those electric vehicle/drone/ and others is huge. Bigger than current vehicles.

Yup, I believe that we will see more and more of these around. Eventually they will be mainstream, just like electric cars are becoming.
