I thought it might be fun and useful to get to the airport. Living in SoCal, few friends have room for me to land. I could land, but the craft is too tall for my garage. The blades are NOT (ed) well over head-height.
4,000' ceiling. A hybrid fueled by gasoline, powered by electricity, mediated by a reserve battery makes sense to me. Not so much, the parachute. Given the four electric motors and battery reserve, the parachute represents lost payload and/or range to me.

Each aircraft comes with two complimentary steel helmets.

A helicopter landed in my neighbor's yard (.4 acre lot, 60' wide, according to county records) and took off with him. Brought him back a half hour later. Kinda' silly, the airport is just a couple miles away, but I suppose somebody was showing off. I've also seen multiple helicopters, civilian, police and military, land on athletic fields in schools and parks. Didn't hurt the fields, and in all of these cases I didn't see them do FOD walks or anything beforehand.

Don’t know what you are talking about “kinda silly”. I fly from my house all the time. Why do you think he was showing off? Because you can’t fly from your house? Don’t know how?
The drones are not going to be any different then flying helicopters now, I think. It’s about noise and the perception of the public like the post above that thinks air traffics place is at controlled locations only. Noise and blowing stuff will be a major threat.

The prop wash from that thing is gonna launch anything not nailed down. I think landing these things in urban areas is a pipe dream. After all....... how many helicopters you see landing in urban areas? I see none. Aren’t all of our flying machines fun until someone gets killed? I live in a rural area where something like this would be very fun, especially if it could be fitted with lightweight floats. Being there are 10k+ lakes here. Greg

Greg I'm not trying to land my PIlatus at the mall. You mix this flying contraption with crowds of people and you're gonna have problems like I've already stated above. It's Murphy's Law. If you live in a rural area and are going to fly to another rural area then you're probably good to go. But the creator of this machine didn't have that mission in mind. Saying "you know some guy who landed a helicopter in his front yard one time" isn't at all what I'm talking about. Until you can do it as much as you drive your car in and out of your garage then it's all a pipe dream.

Unlike Jason, I think cars are history This my friends will be a surefly winner. http://www.zee.aero/ and the Chinese operator are already in the game too. We have millions of drones, these are coming.

A drone carrying 2 people will throw off a TON of prop wash. Not to mention all the spinning blades at eye level when it's on the ground. "Drone type" vs. Helicopter has nothing to do with it. It's just math.
