If it is getting an annual now have an expert look it over while the airplane is opened up. Also look at logs.
An airplane like this can be a great a find or a bottomless pit for money.
Ken Bacon may sometimes travel to look at an airplane. He is on the Aerostar Owner Association website. He is not an A and P but knows about these airplanes and I would trust his opinion.
Also any of the aerostar shops like Master Aviation, Aerostar Aircraft, Flight Shop, and some others I may have missed can possibly look at the airplane.
If you don't know these airplanes I would not buy it without an expert looking at it first.

Wise man once told me that there are no good deals in airplanes. What he meant was basically that the most expensive airplane was usually the cheapest. Low times on a motor means nothing if they haven't been pickled.
