Remember, ALL of our aircraft engines are OLD!
I think Air Worxs out of AL overhauls these engines... you can also find individual A&Ps that will service them. Franklin pilots will argue that these engines are smoother and more reliable than any Continental or Lycoming engine. They built ~5000 Stinson 108s that all used Franklins originally, so did the Bell 47 helicopter, the Tucker automobile and a lot of Bellancas.

The Stinson club is the best organization I've found for support vis-à-vis Franklins and Larry Wheelock (their resident A&P/IA) in particular.

The Stinson 108 is probably one of the most under-recognized and under-appreciated aircraft out there. Good luck!

Never flown a Stinson... Would a 6'3" pilot be comfortable?

Sorely tempted to look at this plane since I'm in the Dallas area... No, I don't really need another plane, but it would be fun!

beautiful, great handling planes. They like their runway though, don't let the fact that it has the little wheel on the correct end make you think it's a stol plane

Hi Joe.
Is this plane still available. I sent a message to your friend ... no response! (also PM’d you) Could you let us know the status?
Thanks,
Paul ...

Pretty hard to show up with the cash if you can’t even get a call back. Maybe some guys just send the cash sight unseen ?!?

Here you go, awesome video of what could be your child in a similar Stinson!

I started my tailwheel in a Stinson over 10 years ago. Now I'm an Airbus captain. Pretty sure those couple hours in a Stinson is what got me hired...

Man, Joe, you really know how to hook the crowd! That's awesome and something the parents can be very proud of!
