I thought the -2 had the 165hp? Also is it in a hangar and can it stay there for a while?

I think the -3 got the bigger motor and the bigger tail.

Yes it is in a hangar, I’m sure something could be worked out to keep it in a hangar. If you want to leave it at LNC more permanently, I even have a friend who may rent you a spot in his large hangar.

The engine size I have to trust from the owner because I’m no Stinson guru. The owner is an IA so I believe what he says about the motor.

Yep, -3 had 165hp, bigger fuel tanks, bigger fuel lines, and that huge vertical with a narrow chord rudder. I had a -3 and loved it, but always liked the looks of the -2 a lot better. They are great flying planes.

I believe the Flying Station Wagon model had the wood panel interior.

We own a 108-1 with a 180 Lycoming and use it with skis in the winter and really enjoy flying it. The Stinson and BE 18 are very similar in that they are a joy to fly and also (now the pay attention news) have maintenance free airframes and the engines, both Franklin and R 985, not so maintenance free and require a knowledgeable mechanic.Anyway that has been the experience of a freight dog operator, ymmv.

150 hp Franklin = standard case
165 hp Franklin = standard case OR heavy case (heavy case not available on 150)
108 - no external baggage door
108-1 first to have external baggage access
108-2 with a 150hp would be a curious derate/engine change
this series is one of the most docile classics!
Franklin engine runs as smooth as a sewing machine......
