Might be they have more reason to look into a P300 or PC24 thread?

I didn't "let it die".... I think it's just that the PC12's performance is amazing and it's such a simple plane to fly that there's not a whole lot to talk about. There are so many PC12's flying that Old Wives Tales can't materialize.

I thought it was because the PC12 is so boring there just isn't much to talk about! ;)

Threads are like plants, all it takes is a dose of BS and their growth explodes.

That's a good analogy. Why did you write it in green?

Didn't want anyone to take it personally.

It's hard to BS the merits of the PC12, it's truly an incredible airplane.
If a PC24 presents itself at a reasonable price I may bite, until then, a CJ3+ or a P300 cannot beat the PC12.........can't be done.

No way I can do my X01 run for stone crabs without the PC12........Jason does not eat day old crab legs at Joe's, he wants fresh.......who am I to disagree....

The only major issue is the borderline dangerous handling characteristics of the pre-47 airframes. I still don't know how they got it certified in the first place.
47-> with the Flettner tabs is so much better.

Mikko,
This is the first I have heard of this. I have very few hours in a legacy but can you expand on these dangerous characteristics?

Aileron efficiency and control forces required when flying in severe turbulence at low level. You need two hands on yoke to fight that, not cool.
47-> are like a night and day compared to the non-Flettner tab versions.

I've heard the legacy birds were heavy on the yoke because they didn't have flettner tabs but never heard anyone say they were "dangerous". "Dangerous" denotes a series of accidents due to the problem don't you think?

Regardless.... they haven't built a legacy model in 12 years or so..... so.....

No. Just unexpected handling qualities that are difficult to handle and if mishandled will result in an accident or incident.

The ailerons are absurdly heavy. There's no way to use only one arm in strong gusty winds, and having to take your hand off the PCL because one arm is not enough to fight the ailerons is not good when you are low.

Mikko, I see some pushups in your future........they're heavy but in my short time in one not dangerous by any stretch of the imagination.

Mikko, I think calling the 45 dangerous is a bit of a stretch. While heavy in roll, after a few hours in the airplane you don't even notice it and it feels like anything else.
