Trying to find a way to make the leap. Is the MMOPA worth the $250/yr?

Pointers on maintenance reserves, fuel burn, etc? Suggestions on what I should look for in a starter model and what you think is about the lowest reasonable price point for a decent Unit?

Thanks

Absolutely worth it if you are in the market! I was on MMOPA for months before I eventually settled on my 2005 Meridian. The forum is much more specific so you can read for weeks about Meridians. The members are extremely helpful and knowledgable and will happily answer any questions you have. Whether you buy one or not it will be the best 250 you ever spent.

1) yes
2) https://mmopa.com/images/MMOPA-officers ... r-2017.pdf

I believe former mmopa president Jonathan Sisk is in Lexington. Very nice guy. Call him.

Steve,

MMOPA is well worth the membership cost. I believe they have a free trial membership. I would also recommend Joe Casey. He helped me with my acquisition.

I was considering a Meridian and joined MMOPA. Great forum, great group of folks over there and extremely helpful. Found friendly people willing to help, and ultimately a test ride with a super knowledgable dude who helped me figure out it wasn't the right plane for me.

Well, well worth the cost. Great community and if you read the archives you can learn about pretty much every single pro and con of various models.

I think they have a 30 day trial that is freee

I've joined a number of type specific owners sites over the years when researching different airplanes. Some are better than others but all have been invaluable. Well worth the money if you're serious about a particular airframe.

$250 is cheap whether you decide to jump on a Meridian or not!

The $50 I spent on the Cessna Advanced Aircraft Forum membership was the best pre-buy money I could have spent.

I joined MMOPA well over a year before I bought my Meridian. Best $250 you can spend if you are serious about buying one. Chad at Malibu Aerospace is a great resource as is Kevin Mead, who is the technical director for MMOPA. You won't regret it.

There is a lot of misinformation out there about most airframes on the web, but I think the misinformation on the PA46 seems to be even higher than most other airframes, that I am familiar with. So there is a lot of benefit to getting your info from people that really fly them ;)

If you do get a PA46, the forum is almost guaranteed to be free every year in the money you will save on the acquisition and maintenance side.
