Anyone know of a legacy 850 for sale or 700C2?

See this thread Aircraft inventory levels are critically low. Your question is also common amongst prospective owner members of TBMOPA. Avex has a buyer rep program where Danielle will call current owners across the fleet trying to shake loose an off-market plane. It's expensive but might be the right move in this market.

I've been watching the 850 listings on Controller since I closed on mine in September, there have typically been only 1-2 listed in North America at a time in the last 8 months.

I have a friend with a C2 that considered selling for what seems like an absurd sum but, like me, he doesn't want to sit on the sidelines for 12-18 months waiting for the market to normalize. Instead he is going to repaint his bird.

The 35-50% ROI in less than a year is appealing though...

How much faster do you think the 960 will be vs. the M600?[/quote]

I have a TBM 900 and a M600 and the 900 is a 320 KTS true and the 600 is a 275 KTS true at normal cruise so my 900 is 45 KTS faster and burns about 15 GPH more.

Kind of depends on how you run the engine. If you run the M600 by torque it is a little slower than that maybe 265 on average. If you run it by allowed ITT, it is as fast as a TBM 700 at lower fuel flow. We see 280+ running ITT but don’t run our engine that hard. The belief being cheapr hot sections and overhauls?? The M600 is faster and climbs better in IMC and icing than a TBM 700, since there is no inertial separator penalty. But even in the 900 series, 45-60 knot differences in speed isn’t as big a factor as you would think in the real world anyway. Preflght delays, ATC delays, passenger delays are all bigger factors in real world travel times ;-). But the M600 is still relatively slow. However it is the least expensive new modern turbine that does what it does. Compromises.

My M600 is always 8-12 KTS above book at normal cruise and the TBM at high cruise is at least 6 KTS below book. The difference on a 500 NM trip is 10-12 minutes and 20 gallons of fuel.

Here is a very cold day in the M600 at -43C at FL250 the book would be 268KTS but it was actually 284 KTS at 330 PPH.

I sold my 1975 A36 and moved up to a 2010 TBM 850. Love it!

I really wish they had a Facebook forum like the Bonanza community does. I just started a page on Facebook for TBM owners if any of you want to check it out. Would love to grow that so we can all share photos, advice, meet ups, etc... for FREE.

Glad I found this thread, lots of great TBM talk here!

William if you post the name of your new TBM group it would be helpful. I did a cursory search and didn’t find it. I’m an IT klutz.
Thanks

That looks a lot like Mt. Si in Washington state on your FB header photo!

Guy-
Do you have a catalog or list of products you make for the TBM?

Maybe it’s like trying to find our model on the FBO price sheets - do I search for TBM? Socata? Daher? Nope - EADS/Socata here at GYY (Gary, IN)

I always tell them it’s a TBM7 (which they all are).
