So Tom, any insights into how one can convince an insurance company that you are qualified to move between the models covered by CE-500 even though you don't have the minimum required for a particular model? My immediate issue is that there is a pilot with tons of 551 experience but none on 501.. not only they require minimum hours on every model that you want to fly but also they want you to have yearly/recent currency. I had this same issue with a C414 and C421, and more ridiculously a F33A and a A36, etc.

BTW - I buy insurance from you :D

That's exactly 25% more Learjet than I own. Congrats.

So John, you own 18.75% of a Learjet? Congrats to you! :dancing:

Not sure i am going to stay in the Lear. Clearly a two pilot plane. Lots going on. Crappy AP. Long runway required. Not very fuel efficient. I have an opportunity to sell my share. I knew I could sell it so I just threw in for the option value. We’ll see.

You can do differences training during your 61.58 for the different models within the type that the insurance company should recognize. It will add to your training time.

Working out the training program that satisfies the FAA and the insurance underwriter is the key. It is best discussed offline with your broker.

Which Lear? That seems so opposite of my experience with the 31Aer.
Heading to recurrent in November on the Lear which is always fun since it is fighter performance empty..

Also... places in Scottsdale for drinks: My #1 Favorite is AZ88 in Old Town.

Funny since the 31 there is literally ZERO going on...
Its hard for 2 pilots to keep occupied. Very easy plane to fly solo, just sayin.
The dual digital autopilot installation is impeccable.

All that said... we continue to eyeball the early SP Citations just as a cheap runabout to replace the Mu2. Finding a short wing variant to fit in our hangar has been an issue though. Hangar space (with fuel farm) in my area is an issue...

If you can solve the SIC with a rated wife, is the LR31 a good step up from the 501? On a per mile basis, it probably doesn't burn any more gas. Post some LearJet porn Jesse.
