Hi All, Well, I'm really enjoying the Cub! Before the first flight, I wanted to do a little bit of 'preventative maintenance' for the peace-of-mind, so I had the magnetos and carburetor IRAN'd. Turns out the carb had a 65 HP venturi (on a C85 engine!), and a cracked upper casting that was repaired with JB Weld, so I think it was money well spent! The other night I did a little bit of formation with my hangar neighbor flying his Katana DA-20. To make it work, he was throttled way back with approach flaps deployed, and I was (pretty much) balls-to-the-wall..... We flew to the coast just north of Boston, and cavorted above a marine layer that was rolling in off the ocean. Made for some very memorable flying!
