And, looking like a taildragger in flight makes it look VERY cool.... it also creates a hump between the pax/pilot where the nose gear is stowed, i'd rather take the interior space and simplified design of a fixed gear, i'm also very skeptical of their numbers being accurate

This (valid) argument always comes up for retracts. Is it possible to get an insurance policy that does not cover gear-up landings, but still covers the other usual stuff, in order to decrease the premiums?

What if it’s not pilot error? What if you have a forced off field landing and wanted to stretch the glide?
