Hopefully chasing this 685 won't deter your plans for the Lightning?

Got to close on the Duke to do either.
I think I am going to hate Charlie for starting this thread.
I would have to get this thing cheap either way.

Somebody will get it cheap. I just hope it's the right "somebody".

A cheap 685? Like a “cheap” Queen Air, it’s a unicorn.

This plane will go cheap because there is no market for 685's. There are 15 on the FAA registry. Generously 5 of them are flying, but it's probably 3.

N1021 - active
N685LD - active
N368TP - airframe in question, at least 17 IFR flights since March 2017

N1525 - FA shows 1 flight in last 6 months
N414C - FA shows 1 flight in last 6 months

*N685TT - last IFR flight 2013
*N60QR - registry expired, last IFR flight 1998
*N1203N - last IFR flight 2000
*N165SE - no IFR records
*N48MS - eagle creek basket case, correct? Last IFR flight 2009
*N6517B - was nice 4 years ago, last IFR flight 2016
*N685PB - reported sold 2014, not re-registered
*N685Q - last iFR flight 2016
*N750RG - last iFR flight 2016
*N813GB - reg expired 2016

If there's a commander in the world that's NOT a basket case - 368TP is it. State government operated and fresh overhauls on both sides.

That is 100% accurate. Nothing like having maintenance and ops furnished by the government.

I’m a huge Commander fan. When these were new my dad left me with a little advice: he said you can’t make a friend with a 685, son. They have some very cool features, but nothing I’ve seen since has disproven that nugget. I know nothing of this plane, but I’ve sure seen some crappy government maintenance over the years too. Anyway, happy shopping. Agreed, in the right hands it would be neat to see a few of all the fire breathing piston twins remain flying.

Seems like I need this just to fly for a bit and then trade it in on a 900 or 1000. Bruce, what’s the trade in value?

Lol. Yes, if you can master the 685, you’re good to go!

Isn’t that what your guru said? I stopped at $55K. It isn’t me.

Seven hours to go and @ $75,000.76.
I have, on good authority, that it is Charles R.
