Serious question, how can a bonanza have less maintenance then a 182? Using 1970 models as a comparison, 182 230 hp o-470 with a carb, belt driven alternator and fixed gear. Bonanza 285hp IO-520 with FI, front mount geared alternator and retract gear. A bonanza is more complex in every area I can see. What am I not seeing? Less maintenance events I can see, Cessna's are rattle traps. But anybody who says their Bo costs less to maintain than a 182 is lying to you. I have both right now and it simply isn't possible over the long term. A lucky year, sure, but on average not possible.

Because they do not have canards unless you want one.

The only thing better in this class is an R182T, 170kts, stable as a rock and very low expense annuals. Owned mine since 2001 and will keep it even though I'm stepping up to a TBM. It's just an all round great reliable plane, no carb icing issues, Derated Lycoming that always makes TBO and can carry anything you can fit in it and fly for 6-9hrs with no CG issues. What's not to like except Cessna as of late think they can rip you off on parts like Bonanza has been doing for decades. As an Example, I had to pay 6K for a spinner because I have a 3 blade prop and that brass door rivet was 80 bucks. It would have been cheaper if it was 24kt Gold. Cessna is getting ridiculous with parts pricing and catching up fast with Beechcraft. As if a Cessna part is equal to a Beech part..LOL! Aside from that, they are great airplanes. If and when I do sell it, I will just part it out for 5 million!
