The 20 was my first type rating. Loved that old bird, and the -5 conversion made a good plane great.

I had the privilege of flying a 2000 for a month earlier this year before it was sold. It’s an awesome plane. Built by pilots for pilots.

No doubt the Falcon 50 is a great plane, especially for those who can do the algebra (MSP*4)

I'm an old Boeing guy, emphasis on old. Lot's of 737 time 200 thru 700, KC-97, B-29, B-17, etc. I thought Boeing was the best builder of solid, dependable, good flying airplanes. That was until I crossed paths with Falcons.

A few years ago the FAA added some "vintage" corporate jets to my "vintage examiner" group of airplanes and I began to get acquainted with Falcon 10's, 20's and 200's. I have also flown some right seat in the 50EX.

Not since I flew T-38's back in the early 70's have I experienced the exhilaration of flying a hot rod like the 10. An amazing wing is one that stalls fully configured (light weight) at about 85 knots, clean at 125 knots and will go literally as fast as you want without so much as a quiver or twitch. ArthurQ is something you must experience to appreciate.

Recently I started contract flying a 20 Retrofit with just about every mod and S/B that exists. It is a "10" inside and out and draws a crowd just about everywhere we go that there are connoisseurs of le Falcon present. The 20 does the same things that the 10 does, but just slightly less on the acceleration and climb rate.

Until I meet the Falcon I thought the only thing worth having from France was Michelon tires. :dancing:

Maybe we should go back to calling the Falcon 10/20 its real name: Mystère.
It's quite an interesting story, which I believe we've told a few times here.
The story behind Michelin is also very interesting.

They are incredible aircraft. I insured a 900 that had some leading edge damage from a bird strike.

After repairs the aircraft had a noise/vibration that the factory had a name for; Sinerage. My understanding is that a unique individual was deployed from the factory with some tools (a hammer) and he would study the leading edge, like an artist work on the shape of it and iron out the vibration. Like some sort of old world aircraft Sommelier.
