Hats off to Kyle Lee.

New owner of a soon to be refurbed Skylane.

Will be working his way to Bonanza soon.

But nothing wrong w starting the process w a Cessna 182.

Took him up in N340BS and AIB, Inc made his dreams reality.

Way to go Kyle!

My first plane was a 182. We traveled all over in it, and I got my instrument and commercial ratings in that plane.

Fond memories...

Enjoy that plane, Kyle!

Fantastic response. Your gonna have to share w Kyle your progression to a 310. Particularly on account of the fact we caught him drooling all over one in the hangar at 28J when he was supposed to be focused on the Skylane. Probably left nose and hand prints all over that old tuna tanked 310.

I bought my skylane as a student pilot. Got my private, instrument, commercial in the airplane and traveled with my family all over for 800 hours. Loved the airplane, hated the engine. On the balance, I have fond memories of the airplane with lots of family firsts in it.

Vitali,

Tell us more about using gasoline in the C-182. What type of engine did it have? How was the performance with gasoline vs 100LL?

My friend he was a chemical pilot guy owned Tiger also used 95 octane , i get only one problem left tank start leaking . I now engine was overhauled about 2000 hours . My bird still flying today with my original equipment

On the lower compression O-470s (prior to 1977 when they went to the higher compression O-470U engine) there is a mogas STC for it. My 182 had the STC, although I never used mogas in mine.

Thank you all. My family and I are very excited. Planning trips already.

I’m currently a student pilot and looking forward to soloing in this baby very soon. Thus far, my training has been in a 172. I want to move right into IFR after my checkride.

I am having 22R painted in the next week and am looking at schemes. I attached my favorite so far. Let me know what you think.

Kyle

Congratulations, Kyle! Was that your little girl with you in the first shot? I'll bet she's beyond excited.
