There may....may....be a chance for me to fly a PC-12.

I've tried to find out about training costs......it seems to be a state secret. Neither SimCom nor FlightSafety will quote it over the phone, it seems....

I've got several hundred hours behind a PT-6-67....

anyone have knowledge of approximate training costs?

stan

When I did mine, it was $4,000 + instructor (travel) and aircraft expenses. 3 Green Aviation. Shane Jordan comes to your airport and trains you in your airplane. Excellent instructor and insurance approved.

We did 8 hours of ground school on systems on operations then about 5 hours in the airplane over 2 days.

Disclaimer: I had lots of PT-6 and King Air experience. Someone moving "up" to a PC-12 may be better served initially in a sim course.

I did my initial at Simcom. Just call them and ask the price. Probably around $6K

Stan, Send me a PM with whom you spoke and I will get you the answers you need. Bryan

Naww. They're too busy contacting folks like me to see if I want Baron recurrent. I haven't owned a baron for six years. :D

Is the word "recurrent" used anywhere else than in aviation training?

For my RE license, it's renewal training every two years. No sim training, but it can be done in-house :D

I think that's a fair bit less than I paid for the 2 day recurrent. Is that an extra two pilot discount?

Yes.

We do this every year. It's a good deal. 2 students... 1 teacher. 2 days. 1 night. Start at 8am, Done by 2 or 3 every day. $8K for 2.

I'm taking the 2-day Apex course this weekend for $2,390. PIREP to follow.

Ask for Marcia (pronounced Mar-cee-ah) Birmingham at SIMCOM if you need a price on any course.

It's got to be collocated somewhere.
