There may....may....be a chance for me to fly a PC-12.

I've tried to find out about training costs......it seems to be a state secret. Neither SimCom nor FlightSafety will quote it over the phone, it seems....

I've got several hundred hours behind a PT-6-67....

anyone have knowledge of approximate training costs?

Have the training facilities hired upper management from Signature?

Stan, ping me. I would not go initial at either Flight Safety or Simcom. I would use either Dave B or Shane J for initial............

looking forward to getting your thoughts on the bird. Buy you an aero seat for that airplane. Best $200 you will ever spend in aviation........

I did my initial at Simcom. Just call them and ask the price. Probably around $6K

I did my initial at simcom, insurance company required either SimCom or FlightSafety. List price is $9500 for an initial (NG) at SimCom, and 16k at FlightSafety, the later having a full motion sim. Legacy training might be cheaper.

Legacy does not offer Pilatus training. The only simulator based outfit in the country for the PC12 are Simcom and Flight Safety.

if you have the flexibility to complete the initial in the aircraft (the insurance policy for the aircraft you will be flying dictates this) - MP previously alluded to a couple of the best in the business.

I think he meant a "Legacy" PC12. The one they made before the NG.

I think you are right (my mistake) and also believe FSI was working on a legacy /45 /47 simulator last time we met in their facilities for the POPA board meeting.

I do this every year for my recurrent. I call for the price as my buddy and I go at the same time for a better price.

How do they sell their service if they can't tell you a price?

Yep, the FSI Legacy sim is up and running. They are also working on a second NG sim. The NG sim stays booked.

I'm not sure what the FSI Initial class cost but the recurrent class cost $7,700 if you are a member of POPA. If you are going to FSI, join POPA as the discount will more than pay for your membership.

Email: MaryJane . Evans @ flightsafety.com and she will give you a quote.

FSI's facilities and sim are first class. Long time PC-12 instructor Tom Evans leads the program. Tom was trained in the PC-12 prototype and he's been instructing in the 12 ever since.

If doing the training in the plane I will second Shane Jordan.

That's messed up. You mean the person who answered the phone could not give a price and the sales person needed to call you back? I got my quote for Navajo over the phone...

As I said, be ready to drop 9k-ish for simcom, plus whatever it costs to stay in Orlando FL for a week. On the bright side I was able to finagle a 20% discount. YMMV ! Yeah and Legacy meaning Legacy (non-NG) PC12, which I think is cheaper. The simcom NG is a real NG cockpit. Their projector graphics suck but the cockpit is perfect. I'll be back in Jan...

thanks for the info....

Yes, I left my phone number both places. Neither has called back yet...which is just as well.

As usual, BT has more info than anywhere else.

(yeah, kind of weird....you’d think that they’d be all over a potential customer...)
