My suggestion is to give a call to any of the shops which specialize on them and speak to the mechanics about any owners mumbling about selling theirs. The mechanics seem to have a lot of insight on potential off-market birds.

On my field here at KTOL is National Flight Services. I would suggest you give them a call. One of their lead mechanics is Monny and he would be the first I would call if I were in your position.

Is damage history a concern? There is one up here that has fairly new paint, interior, avionics, and, as far as I know, low time engines and props. It does have recent damage history though (hard landing resulting in spar repair amongst other things), and it spent time as a drug runner. The owner has talked about selling it, but never has gotten serious...
