I had a 320E for a number of years. Other than the fleet including older 310s being over 50 years old, the 320Es and Fs are incredible planes. They will carry a large load with the 5th and 6th seats removed, and scoot along at 200ktas in the low teens. It is very easy to fly SE and you will see a true 500ft/m climb on one engine. Not that I would do it, the owners manual has specs for a SE take-off.

edit: found they are actually "just" TSIO-520's If I recall, the Colemill 320 replaces the TSIOs with 300hp IO-550s. The Colemill conversion for the Cessna 320 used the IO-520E - same as the President 600 Baron.

Look for the newest one you can find, as they have the most refinement. Get a good clean airframe. It's a T310 with a larger airframe. Lots of parts compatibility between the two. They discontinued the model after 1968. That's when the T310 came out. I guess it didn't fit in marketing's lineup, VW.

I think the bean counters made the decision to discontinue the 320 with the "F" model in 1968 and replace it with the Turbo 310P in 1969. Too bad Jerry Temple is not on our forum - I hear he knows quite a bit about Twin Cessna geneology.
