I just spent half an hour going back over this thread. What a trip down memory lane, I should have just provided a link rather than putting together a builder's log. It would have saved time and been a better record.

It's incredible how much good advice I got and how much of it I took over the course of this 5-year thread. The plane is just finished and I'm already starting to get nostalgic about the building process.

It serves as a reference for all the things that have happened in my life over the course of the project. There was a long break in thread updates when my kids graduated from High School and went to College (they will graduate in the spring). Another break was when my Father passed away followed closely by my Mother developing Alzheimer's. Lots of gross underestimation of how long things would take, particularly the instrument panel. Most of the build happened during the pandemic, so that will always be an important backdrop. Helped keep me sane during those dark days.

I feel pretty good about my level of perseverance and that I kept plugging away in spite of problems and distractions.

Thanks to everyone that contributed to the thread, and special thanks to those of you who've reached out via PMs. Most of all thanks to all of you who have shown up and applied tools to the job. I couldn't have done it without you.

I'm guessing it's "Fly everywhere, land everywhere!"

I don’t know… maybe an RV-14. If I build an RV-14 it would probabaly mean selling my F33A. I don’t really want to do that, but it might make sense as I head for retirement in a few years.

Oshkosh will be interesting.

That's certainly next up on the itinerary. I have a new Wife Approved item on my Bucket List; fly the RANS to Alaska. Not this summer but next, summer of 2024 if all goes well.

It will be a long trip at 100Kts. Probably need to take off 4 to 6 weeks to make it worth it.

And next year is the year we said we'd take a break from Alaska. Bummer! We're going this year; it'll be the 3rd in a row.

We'll just have to arrange to meet somewhere else.

If I had a RV, next would be getting some amphibious floats. :D
It was fun watching progress of your project and how expectations meet reality.
