I mean everywhere like overtop stringers, longerons, along window frames and the door sills, etc. I'm asking solely out of curiosity. Your pictures look great!

Obviously I didn't update this thread back in October like I said I would. Better late than never. I've been putting in a good bit of time on the project, but since all the major assemblies and parts are finished, it doesn't look that much different than it did a year ago. Here are some of the things I've gotten done: *Everything is covered with Oratex, including all the control surfaces doors, etc. *Header tank and fuel lines are plumbed and installed to the firewall. *Boot Cowl is fitted up. *Cowling has rough fit up (can't finish until the engine is hung. *Doors are built and glass installed. *Most of the wiring in the fuselage and wings is installed. *Rear seat heater installed *Lots of parts painted and powder coated. *Seats upholstered and installed. *Brakes and brake lines installed. Here are some recent pictures. Attachment: IMG_0330.jpg Attachment: IMG_3805.jpg Attachment: IMG_0335.jpg Attachment: IMG_0333.jpg I've reached a point where I really need an engine to keep moving, so I bought one. I found what I think is a decent deal on a used 912is that was installed on an LSA. The plane was damaged in a landing mishap (nobody hurt) but the engine seems to have come through it Ok. It's had a thorough going over including a new gearbox. I bought it from a company that sells LSAs with the 912is and they seem to know the engine inside out, so I'm feeling pretty good about it. The engine has got about 500 hours on it. Attachment: IMG_0394.jpg The RANS firewall forward kit is for a Rotax 912ULS, that's the carburated version of the engine. I got a 912IS, which has electronic fuel injection. What that means is that I've got some additional work to install the IS since there are extra boxes, pumps, and filters for the computer and fuel injection. It's been done, but there are no directions and I'm going to need to fabricate a bunch of brackets. After exhaustive research, I'm convinced the "IS" is the way to go. It's a completely modern engine that would be right at home under the hood of a Honda, but it's also a fully certified aircraft engine. Who knew that could be done? I still think I'm on schedule for flying the plane early this summer. It may be that for the first time in many years I'll be flying something to Oshkosh besides a Bonanza. Jack
