These radios came with the Merlin. I originally thought I'd replace them, but they are absolutely the most clear and pleasant to work with boxes I've ever used. Comm 1 flips between two freqs; comm 2 doesn't. Any know where I can find a unit of the same kind as comm 1 so both comm 1 and comm 2 will flip between two freqs? I don't even know what kind of radios these are, lol. Just that they're made by King.
Anyone?

I can shuffle some things around and make it fit; easy enough to toss the ADF box, for instance. I have a 530WAAS and connected to a GTX330ES I'm 2020 compliant and have the ADSB traffic I want; that plus an iPad, stratus, color radar, and strikefinder, and I have everything I need to get around without spending another 100k on a panel.
I really like this Merlin. I don't really want to change much, but if anyone know what these radios are and where I can get another, that'd be great.

Thanks! Ok, let me show you how much I don't know about avionics...
When you guys say "control heads", does that mean the radios themselves are seperate from that? Does that mean I need the radio component as well, or can I just buy the head I want and hook it up?

Exactly. These radios are a 3 part system - head (what is in your pic), remote radio and antenna. You need the box in the back for each control head. RAS

Anyone? My guess is you still have the Baker Audio panel? Merlins had top quality equipment installed.

Yup, I have that audio panel. Thanks for the heads up on where to buy the gear and how not to put an eye out, lol. I absolutely can't get enough of this Merlin. Too bad they never offered one with maybe the same motor on the Cheyenne 4; the airframe can take it and it would be a beast. Oh well...I guess I'll just have to settle for 305.

You probably have Collins Proline series radios, the control heads are just that - control heads. The actual radio is racked up in the nose. The stuff may look (and be) old but it is much more solid than the usual GA stuff. A Merlin is an airline grade machine. Old King Air radio are similar - may look ancient, but very stout stuff.
