Wow! Very nice!

TBM seems like such a perfect airplane for so many missions. Pictures like this make me wish I wasn't too tall for one.

Curious about your thoughts on the M2 and how you landed (ha!) on the TBM.

John,
The M2 is a great airplane to say the least. Its has very strait forward flying qualities as all the strait wing Citations do. FADEC is a huge plus and makes engine management similar to a fuel injected 172. At 400 its its not the fastest thing around, but a 100 kt approach speed is an added plus. The G3000 avionics are wonderful for someone like me with mostly Garmin experience. My typical mission is >800 nm so the TBM is a good fit.

If you think the TBM is small, you will be quite disappointed with the M2. Actually had less leg room than my old Meridian. Understand they have a mod to remove some cabinets, maybe that helps. Mustang has more room up front for big guys.

Congrats!

Do you feel the TBM can fly more missions greater than 800 non stop? I'm surprised the long range didn't favor the jet.

Andrew,
I must have been tired when I wrote that reply. I meant my typical mission is <800 nm. I do feel the TBM will have longer legs however.

Sounds like a perfect fit for an M2, the TBM is slow at 400 too....

Darren,

Congratulations on the new plane! That is a beautiful color scheme and I think the 850G is an incredible value compared to the 930 at them moment. Great choice! If I recall correctly that aircraft was for sale by David Crockett with Cutter? He's a really knowledgeable broker and I bet you had a great experience working with him.

If this is the same airframe I think it is I was at SimCom last fall with the pilots who flew it. Both professionals and really knew the plane well. You can feel relaxed about that.

You're going to find that 800 mile trips are very easy to do! The plane is comfortable, fast, handles weather really well and is enjoyable to fly. Congratulations again.
