Well I controlled the cyclic for 30 minutes doing level flying, climbs, descents and turns. Easier than I thought. Super fun. Could be a problem going forward... :dancing:

Mark,
That has to be fun... So cool. But I don't think I can make four appendages plus my brain do anything in "concert" anymore. Have fun but remember you have to have time to stay current in all these buggers you are flying. The float plane will get you faster than any others I'd bet. Let me know when you stop hauling the rocker around. Kids may fire me and I might need that job...

Fly safe,

Under very close supervision of course, I got to fly a 207.

We started with one control until stable and then added until it was all mine.

Actually set it down but it wasn't pretty. They just feel like they are on the very edge of uncontrollability the whole time.

Obviously, one gets used to it but for that one ride, I was pretty much flop sweat.

Now you just need one on floats.

You will throw rocks at planes for back country. Flying is easy peasy. Hovering and landing where you want takes a few hours. Don't know why guys want Cubs and all after helicopters.

A friend flies helichopters regularly, so I've got a little stick time and some "instruction". Although he is an instructor I couldn't get actual instruction, just a ride up front while he got off the controls (of course, somebody had to take them).

I can't hover, but working with him I learned I could get safely on the ground without that. So long as you're moving it pretty much flies like an airplane. If you need to land you can "skid it on" the runway and walk away from it. Somebody could probably fly the machine again as well.

That hover thing, though, seems to me kind of like trying to stand on a half inflated beach ball. I haven't had time/resources to do real training in one so maybe it would be more straightforward if someone actually taught me something about it.
