The panel is progressing. The original panel for the G3X, supplied with the kit, was just a quick & dirty hack of the fiberglass G900 panel, we couldn't make it work. If you're gonna do it, do it right so we commissioned a molded carbon panel, which finally showed up.

Big squares are for the G3X touch screens, circles are vents, the brow sub-panel on top will be all switches.

Did you do the carbon molding yourself?
It looks great.

Thanks! No, we had a mold made and had it done at a local carbon foundry. Took way longer than expected, doing it ourselves would have been faster. But this way is precise and repeatable.

Any plans to do anything innovative/modern in terms of how the wiring is done behind the panel and how it is accessed (e.g. fold down panel)?

Software circuit breakers, but no fold down panel. There's a lot of stuff behind the panel that isn't as flexible as wiring. Changing all that would add too much time to the already-too-long-delayed project. I'm itching to fly this thing.

From static ports to ADAHRS, two completely independent altimeter systems.

We'll see where that takes us.

maybe a red outline and static sticker is in order around those ports? Ugly but necessary IMO.
They were so tiny and unlabeled on my IV that they are easy to wax over and impossible to remember where they are to preflight.

What goes around the gaps on the radio rack?

I suggest NOT mounting the ADHRS units to the back of the G3X touches as you'll need to remove the static connections every time you want to access anything. Hard mount the adhrs somewhere.

I assume you're sticking a G5 somewhere?

The wires, OMG the wires! Finished installing the wing harnesses, slowly installing the firewall forward wiring

Dave,
You sir have my utmost admiration. The wiring looks like white spaghetti, not sure I could get that task completed. lol

Thanks for posting progress shots. I really enjoy it.

Dave, that's incredible.

How do you know to correct the right wire to the right thing when they're all white?

Zoom in on the picture. The wires have labels printed on them. They’re doing this right. Very impressive.
