I am going to LOBO but the Evo isn't. It's public debut will be at Oshkosh.

Probably not, they're carbon, already plenty stiff. Maybe increase the upline hydraulic pressure, or change the angle of the actuators for better leverage, or maybe add uplocks, I don't know. Fortunately I don't have to worry about it for now, two other builds in the shop have many of the same mods I have, we're sharing the R&D, and one of those builders has been flying longer than I have and is working on the gear doors issue. He's also testing the de-icing system control electronics and software. I'll follow his progress and adopt what he does.

Here's a troubleshooting tip for your gear doors: You can mount a video camera in your wheel well and see what's going on in there. Like This. I used a Garmin Virb, which has a low profile.

The two lost windshields were installed at the factory on sequential builds and both showed the edges had been improperly prepared (the edges showed they had been rounded with a grinder rather than the no coarser than 40 grit sandpaper specified), which creates stress risers. Prism checks and other NDT have been done looking for similar marks on other planes, especially including the next one down the line, with none found. Shops now do a prism check at every annual.

The windshield manufacturer, LPS Aero, confirms the design is plenty strong enough for this application if properly installed.
