What's up with the door warning light on? Cool plane, I'll be at 28J next week playing with aircraft doors in flight.

No idea. But it’s been doing that on and off.

Overall—most all the bugs worked out these days.

A real treat to fly.

I had the same problem. Mine came on as the cabin pressurized. The mounting plate that the door switch is mounted on was flexing. We fabricated a new, stiffer, plate and that fixed the issue.

Mine did that too. Never sure why and only happened occasionally. The door was shut...

Yes, mandatory SIDS here in Australia. We are sooo much safer than you guys, don't you know. I wasn't really including SIDS items in my appraisal though as that all tended to happen at annual time. Stuff just used to break with regularity, just enough to be annoying.

Yeah--it's like a check engine light--comes on--goes off. Door is completely secure. We always see to that. Wonderful planes. Just fantastic. Huge leap over the Baron in creature comfort.

So how’s your cost on the C-340?

How does one steel oneself for 32-36gal/hr of fuel burn?

~$170/hr in gas to go 200k + in the flight levels in pressurized bliss? Seems easy to me!

The fuel adds up, but not that much more than a Baron and the cabin comfort is way up there.

That's purdy John. What engine analyzer is that??

I put about 60hrs on a Ram C340 last year. I loved it although I wasn't the one who had to write the checks for MX. I also met my new hangarmate today who flies a beautiful C335. See picture below.

Love the twin Cessnas and nearly bought one this past year.

What's the skinny on 335s? Good, bad, indifferent?

Useless.

Why have all the complexity of a big twin Cessna, but no pressurization? The pressurization is what makes these airplanes what they are!

I worked at Cessna at the time and the general concensus was "What were they thinking?", expecially considering it was priced at about 90% of a 340.

Is a Navajo useless? A 401/402? Queen Air?

No because they have a massive cabin and a (relatively) light airframe. They make full use of what 600-700hp can do when not asked to pressurize a cabin.

The 335 has all the design compromises of a pressurized twin without the benefits.

How much more expensive is a 414/421 to operate compared to a 340? I am just curious why some choose a 340 over a 414 or 421 when you can have much more load carrying capability with a bigger twin

Other than fuel burn, individual airframe variations will overwhelm model differences.
