That makes the a plane with reverse thrust all the more practical!

..and a Phenom 100 a terrible choice. Can't think of a worse aircraft for an operator the flies out of short runways, that are often contaminated.

Yes, Philip Ufkes flies one and has posted on this thread. I also have a friend who flies one as well.

Flies? No. Flew? Yes, I did for about 500 hours after my retirement from airline flying.

Very long story but my 21 year old college kid met me in Naples. I was there for business and he had an interview for a summer internship. He was able to hitch a ride with a friend of a friend from state college (KUNV) to Naples (KAPF) in a Citation X!! I then flew him back to state college in the TBM.........let's just say the "X" screwed up his reality!

So now he is like the kid of the Netjets share-owner who pouted when daddy only sent a Citation, not a Hawker to pick her up.

Hi Andy,
See that you fly an Eclipse. Comparing flights with another owner out of south FL I don't see the legs I need with the Eclipse. Can you share your experience and flight profiles?
Thanks,

My typical trip is nonstop 861 nm from CDW to VRB and I have made that trip against 70 knot headwinds the book says I could do it against 80 knot headwinds

Before I had GPS and couldn't go over the water it was a 908 nm trip that I could do against 35 knot winds

Assuming a 50 knot tailwind book range is 1160. So I plan 800 nm going west and 1000 nm going east

That's about 3 hour legs which suits my bladder
Hope that helps

Thanks Andy... that's what I was looking for. Block speed seems to be about 340. How do you get treated in and out of Essex with NY Tracon?

Chuck,
Actually pretty good I am always at cruise altitude before I leave Jersey worst case they keep me at 6K for about 6 minutes. Sometimes I go almost straight up.

Coming home everybody is doing the Jaike arrival and CDW is not too bad I plan an extra 100 lbs for that arrival and that works out well.
