Not real stellar in the speed department, but they sure make up for it in cool factor!

Watched them all takeoff, and they got off the ground in a hurry.

Without question the most fun I've ever had flying! Even the seaplane training in a Cub on floats paled in comparison. We toured the "factory" where they make the kits, then had the distinct pleasure of flying with Phil Lockwood, the original creator of the plane and now the owner of the company that makes and sells the kits. Landing on water was amazing simply, and taking off from water was just amazing - it'll take off from the water on one engine!

If we ever buy another plane, this one is at the top of the list!

I ran into a group of air cam guys in Long Island Bahamas during one of their fly ins. What a great group of pilots. We flew around long island Bahamas, all I kept saying was WOW. Wave top flying was pretty cool.

The blue aircam is now owned by my instructor based out of Corona, CA and is always a favorite around the field. Amazing how quickly they get off the ground. One of the guys flying in the video owns a nice Twin Beech, a Stearman and a DC3.

The hangar tenant next to me in KFMY has a new Air Cam on floats. Looked it over yesterday. He said he's flown to the Bahamas twice and also the Keys. A lot bigger then my E55. Looks like a lot of fun to fly but impractical for what I need.

Last Saturday our local EAA chapter (EAA17.org) had its annual banquet. Our speaker was Jack Pelton who went over the list of airplanes that he owns (PT-17, C-195, etc.) Someone in the audience asked him what airplane he wants next and he immediately said an AirCam. He had just come from Triple Tree where he was able to fly one and rumor has it that he had to be pried out of its cockpit.

I went out on a boat today to Marco, looked up at the pass and saw no less than 10 aircams on floats cruising by between about 5 and 50' off the water. Someone is having some fun!
