They're flying the wheels off the Cirrus SF50. It must be going well and I admire their creativity which I'm sure challenges them when they bore holes in the sky. Thought it was interesting.

Alex: The Cirrus went to Fargo yesterday and I was curious of their flight track and performance. I haven't really been following them but glad to see they're in the air. I see most of their flight plans are at 300 knots at 28,000. The TBM 700B I fly is almost 290 at 28,000 burning 55-56GPH or so with about the same climb rates I see on their tracks. The 900/930 TBM's are supposed to be 330 at that altitude or higher with RVSM with just a touch more fuel burn than me. I hear those are pushing 4 million right now.
I guess they have lots of buyers at that price point which is hard for me to understand considering the alternatives. I'm at TBO on our 700 plus hot section due so they're telling me 45 days down (yeah right) and expect a bill for 400ish, maybe more, depends. Crazy to me as well but what are you going to do? Two years ago when I bought it I was told 350ish. It's gone up.
All that means at the price point they say the Vision is at makes, it looks good with all it's bells and whistles and the chute plus all the built in SR pilots looking for step up. Just an observation. I'm not a buyer though, too small, no range. Rather have a Pilatus or the G1000 in the Mustang. I'll probably just keep the TBM until the sting of the motor wears off.

I think they are going to sell a heap of them. I can't wait to pass on in the flight levels though. It looks a tad faster then the Meridian, but agree, looks like the Meridian out climbs it. Nice attribute when it comes to bad weather and fuel efficiency. Looks like the Vision burns at least 50% more fuel to do it though. Right now Jet A is cheap, but won't always be. Some very nice fields are still sporting $7/gallon Jet A and no cards accepted. Make you swallow, thinking about a fill up costing over $1400, especially for those coming from the piston world.

I'm averaging closer to $3 over the course of the past 250 hours. My AvGas is way more.........i don't believe JetA will spiral outta control.......too much pricing pressure currently

Some recent high fields include Jackson Hole, Aspen and Sun Valley. Last I went in they were pushing 7. Don't buy fuel, and you can get the ugly ramp and handling fees.

Yes Heber as well. I have a condo in Park City, Nice to fly in there, but the prices do put a damper on that.

Wow, $7 - I thought KBED was bad, that's outrageous.
