That's some deep stuff. Good article. Never seen that much info. I wish they'd compare more airplanes.

They got the HP rating wrong,

PC12 is 1200 hp takeoff for 5 min and 1000 hp continuously.
TBM 900 is 850 hp continuously.

that is a bit in the details…

the PC12 NGs do have 1200 for take-off and climb

the older ones only for Take Off...

TBM 900 is 850 hp continuously.

In cruise, both engines are the same, ultimately. They have the same basic core, so when you reach temp limit, you get the same power.

The HP limit down low is a function of the airframe more than the engine, how much torque/power can the airframe take safely.

Interesting TBM cabin width 4.0 and height 4.1

Eclipse cabin width 4.67and height 4.25

I didn't realize that there is that big a difference

Reading their graphic, what exactly is "balanced field length" for a SETP?

Great article with good information. It appears that if you want more comfort, ability to haul more people, and don't mind going a little slower and paying a little more per mile then the PC-12NG makes the most sense. If you want the speed and fewer people the TBM makes more sense - especially since it is quite a bit less in initial cost.

The tbm cabin feels very tight to me. Good legroom but head and shoulder room not so much.
