Can they be deiced? Is the Canard really greatly effected by rain? How much baggage is there?
It's experimental. Anything's possible. AFAIK, nobody has ever done deice on a Velocity though. I never noticed any affect from rain. And I've been through some heavy rain. I do know that some of the early Long-EZ's used a particular airfoil shape for the canard that was affected by rain. Baggage area is behind the rear seats. About 20" deep, 40" high and 50" wide. Not as much as a 182 but I never ran into problems with it.

No doubt he will secure the new one with more 2" angle. Silicone sealant. He said so in the video. The impression I get is that he has a notebook full of things to address and his way of addressing them. This prototype is done as far as practical learning is concerned. I’m not sure why he’s moving it because I’m thinking that all of his intended changes are to be incorporated into some next version.

Many have gotten them returned and Peter suggested everyone else who is still a deposit holder call Escrow.com to request a refund. Mine (placed in 2016) was refunded without any issue earlier this year.

I know there are huge issues. Can someone explain to me why he can’t get this engine to not overheat. I know the turbos are screwed up and the cooling lacks, but why does it run well in a car, but not an airplane. Specifically, what would you do besides install a TAT and pressurize it?
I am looking for details. I am just glad he is offering refunds. I do enjoy those who dream big.

I am looking for details. I am just glad he is offering refunds. I do enjoy those who dream big. There are a whole lot of problems. He has it setup where the intercooler heat just dumps into the radiator. He had no idea what the dynamic pressures of the inlet snd outlet. He had no duct work once it got inside the cowl . He based sizing his radiator on what Audi used. The problem with that is he changed the turbos to something that was 6-7 pressure ratios. He spent more time doing bandaids on it, he could have probably redesigned the whole setup. I bet they are going with a whole different power plant and don’t care to really fix what he has now.
