If I recall correctly the rear window cracked at static - ambient pressure.

Correct.

I think he left the front jacked up over the weekend one time and it was cracked when he cam back.

Oh, well there's your problem; it wasn't the window, the cabin flexed! Easy to fix, just don't jack it like that anymore.

I don't think that pressurization is really an issue for him...

You need to fly over a certain altitude to require pressurization. He is very safe in that regard.

Maybe he can sell time in it as a ground-based hyperbaric pressure chamber. That should be able to hold 1PSI before the windows flex and blow out. The one I saw for wound care after a fire looked like a giant vinyl and rip stop balloon with a zipper. Hopefully this could withstand it.

Raptor engine powered by salt water. Range can be extended if pilot and passengers need to urinate.

Just buy the plans from a previous venture, leaving out the BD5 for bandwidth

Was it ever determined what the issue was with the VK-30?

A recent one crashed.
For the recent accident, I have not seen a definitive answer. But looks like the drive shaft failed based on the early reports.
The plane had serious CG, Stall, and engine issues. Engine issues were mostly heat and/or the drive shaft. Harmonics and torsional vibration are a significant problem.

From a practical standpoint, only way to make that kind of design work is with a narrow turbine so there is minimal shaft extension.

It's easy to find- there is only one thread you have to search.
