It would be cool if someone took it and hired some experts to come in and get it right. But, how many millions more will it take? This isn't going to be a $130k kit if someone takes the time and money to fix it.

That's just the thing; "right" is never going to be what Peter imagined. Not even close, because the laws of physics don't allow it. Now if you want a pressurized five or six place canard with decent cruise speeds and range, then that is certainly obtainable, but as was pointed out, you'd more or less be starting from scratch. The only thing that might come from the current Raptor program is a following of loyal hopefuls that in theory might be turned into customers.

Based on a comment he made he won't be making announcement of production, someone else will, I bet he has cashed out once the prototype is in CA.

Putting faith in Peter's claims is no more illogical than putting faith in bitcoin.

California......????

admittedly I haven't been to the USA in a few years so maybe i shouldn't make assumptions without asking for facts.

So...have the rocky mountains gotten shorter while I was away ?

Bitcoin has far more intrinsic value than Peter’s claims! For one thing, Bitcoin will never go negative...

He hasn’t yet. Flew today for over an hour averaging 120-ish knots. The airspeed plot looks like someone with an unhealthy EKG. It spikes up with application of power, then dives down as he reduces power a couple minutes later to keep the engine from melting.

I’m safe on the ground with my planes snugly in their hangars clutching my (fictional) Bitcoin.

Except...

A LOT more people have faith in bitcoin. And that is the entire root of its value. it is entirely a confidence game to make someone believe some numbers are valuable just because they are hard to compute.

Without wishing to be the devil's advocate, FR24/flightaware tracks often seem to show quite erratic airspeed data for GA aircraft. Likely not accurate, unless of course he's actually doing low speed testing...

FR24/ADS-B is also groundspeed, not airspeed. Some of the increase/decrease is likely a headwind/tailwind factor at play, as he was doing figure eights the whole time. Some is also likely due to his altitude oscillations, although those might also just be errors from his pitot-static system too. :duck:

Odd flight, but  .

The winds were being called variable at 4kt. on the ground.

I like how when he applies takeoff power, the altimeter thinks he is climbing while only going 15 knots.

They were pretty brutal out of the north at altitude so probably impactful there as well. Did key west to Atlanta this afternoon.

Indicating 15 knots. If the altimeter is climbing his airspeed is reading high.

If he hugs the southern border and he goes in the middle of winter, he may be able to make the trip at about 500' AGL.
