I don't see any evidence of deliberate misbehavior here. In fact, with the return of the escrow money I think it's just the opposite. You might accuse Peter of ignorance or naïveté, but I don't get any impression of him being in it for the money.

Everyone is acting like PM just had the escrow money sent back out of the goodness of his heart. That’s not what happened. Based on some state laws escrow.com was going to have to do something with accounts that were too old. Instead of having to spend so much time dealing with it, he made it easy on himself and elected to let people get their money back and keep their spot inline.

I’m sure it doesn’t matter to him. He will send those people a request for the money here when that 40 hours has been flown.

Whatever the reason, the fact is he does not have millions of dollars waiting in escrow accounts. And if he sends a request for money to those individuals, and they decide to indulge him...............I believe there’s a saying about a fool and his money.

I'm actually pretty impressed he's flying around in that thing. He got further than I thought he would. No, I won't be sending off a deposit. :D

I wish he hadn't gotten this far, for his own safety.

Man, it’s going to take awhile to reach FL250. #flyraptorfly :coffee:

I didn't think it would get off the runway.

I don’t get it. Before the second flight there was plenty to be concerned about, but from what I’ve seen it flies like an airplane. I have seen no evidence to make me believe that it’s structurally unsound, or aerodynamically dangerous. The largest risk is that of an engine failure, but it’s a single engine airplane.

So why are we fearing for Peter’s safety at this point?

Can't speak for others, but I see a guy with zero test planning or discipline. He's just playing with a toy and narrating a video. Each flight that doesn't scare him will push him randomly toward the edge of the unknown envelope.

Maybe he is going to move to California so that Jerry can be his test pilot!

No no no, that won’t work. Don’t you remember that Jerry’s number one rule is that he doesn’t fly in home builts, you know, for safety.

He's already at the edge. Testing the A/P without first reading the manual? Without knowing what speed the canard stalls at? With a known static port error that causes erroneous airspeed?

There a quote about watching Phil Mickelson play golf that that applies to watching Peter's videos: It's like watching a drunk chase a balloon next to a cliff.

You just never know when the next cringe inducing moment will come.
