Peter is doing everything in his power not to find anything else wrong. He’s not going to fly it high so we see that the turbos are jacked up. He doesn’t plan on pushing that envelope either. He wants to get it into someone else’s hands for dollars.

I would say he's doing everything in his power not to find anything. He still doesn't know what the stall speed of the canard is. No clue about Vx or Vy either. In short, he knows nothing beyond that it can struggle into the air up to 6,000' and stay there for a couple hours (I think his record is 2:50 at this point).

It amazes me that he’s just going to fly it around for 40 hours and just go into production. The new company has to design out 1000#, get a proper engine, get pressurization working, test it all and make sure this thing doesn’t go into a deep stall or something weird when you get near the edge of the envelope. The only usefulness of this current prototype is to check out the aeros of this airframe so you can fix it in the next prototype.

If our theory is correct then “he” isn’t going into production, someone else is. All that “he” needs to do is fly off the remainder of the 40 hours so that he can take it outside of the defined test area. It may also be a requirement of “the company” that he do so. All he is doing is building time.

Your first day following Peter?

It’s registered as Experimental-Research and Development not as Experimental-Amateur Built. From what I’ve read on the HBA forum, in the R&D category there is no “40 hours” of initial testing requirement, and you can’t fly outside the defined test area unless you have the test area changed. The 40 hour thing is an arbitrary number Peter picked, or he doesn’t understand the rules that pertain to having it registered as R&D. There’s no “I’ve flown X number of hours, now I can fly it wherever I want”, with an R&D registration. I also believe the R&D registration is only good for 1 year.

Well that's ironic. I know I've heard him mention the forty hours on video more than once. He appears to be under the impression that he needs to check that box.

If doing so won't allow him to fly it to California (a terrible idea no matter what), then why would he waste the time? < Rhetorical question.

It wouldn’t be the first time he’s completely ignorant of what the facts are.

Have not seen anything from Peter for awhile. So I checked out FlightAware and it’s looks like he is putting a lot of hours in.

Curious why he would do figure 8’s instead of a regular hold type circle? Seems odd.

It also seems like he decided the YT revenue was not worth the crap he was getting in the comments. Haha.

From 2 Dec to now, he has 34.5 hours according to Flightaware.

Doesn't want to wear out the ailerons on one side.

I heard he’d gotten as high as 6000’. Gonna have to do better to a) fly to California and b) sell airplanes.

30 hours of figure 8’s over the airport. Apparently, that’s the flight test program so far.

Has to wait until fall so the engine won’t overheat…….

Why does his ground speed look like an EKG chart? Is that the effect of figure eights in a prevailing wind above?
