Over the years I thought that I had seen all production aircraft. Indeed, until today, I had never heard of Angel Aircraft. While browsing Controller to see what the piston twin market looked like I came across this ad: http://www.controller.com/listings/airc ... raft-angelI did some Bing/Google searching to find out more about Angel Aircraft. It is hard to believe that this plane never took off, so to speak. http://angelaircraft.com/AACBrochure2.pdfMy only guess was that this was designed for missionaries in a time where AvGas was readily available and, 11 years later the aircraft was certified and now Jet-A and planes like the Kodiak and Caravan were common and SETP reliability was proven. Thoughts?

Aircraft mission profile is targeted to a very small market. And those props just behind the wheels would make anything other than a paved runway departure a hazard for the props.

This is built where I live. I worked there in the summer of '07 I believe. It's a good airplane, but nut much demand for it unfortunately. They've gotten some funding from China last I heard. Part of the problem with it, in my opinion, is that it's been run as a mission for profit, rather than as a business with a humanitarian bent.

You're right. Very clever. I haven't seen one since the early 80's but always remembered the simplicity and effectiveness. Did you fly it out of F45? I vaguely remember seeing one taxi into hangars in the south east area.

That one I flew out of Lantana LNA. Wasn't flying out of F45 at the time, only practicing approaches and landings there back when. Now I haven't flown out of LNA for 4 years or more.

Has a purpose. Good takeoff performance somewhat roomy cabin. Those pluses are exchanged for a horrible single engine climb, mediocre speed, and potential for prop damage. Has performance almost identical to an aztruck.
