Flew to APA last night to ski A Basin for a few days. Saw the Cirrus jet pull up while eating dinner at The Landings. Ran out to check it out and talked to the pilots. They were super nice and told us whatever we wanted to know.

Here's what I remember:
300-310KTS
450 lb/hr
2500 useful
28,000 (not rvsm)
about 1000 mile NBAA range with two pax

It was dark and already closed up so I couldn't see much inside. Looked like three seats in the middle and two behind them. The pilot said the back seats were for kids or bags.

I find it interesting that the engine is not parallel with the fuselage.

I'm a big guy 6' 5" so it doesn't look that big in the picture but standing next to it, it felt much bigger than I thought it would. Build quality looked great. Solid looking airplane.

Oh yeah, he said $1.8M per copy.

Nice, but too much money for the payload and speed IMO.

I'm kinda surprised More folks aren't interested in this, I don't think it's a great value myself but I can't believe they didn't hit the mark for some.

I think it will be great John. I'm looking forward to seeing used copies hit the market.

Considering John is my height, it looks decidedly less clown like.

They sent a mock up around a few years ago and then also had the prototype fly in for a shin dig I attended. The mock was very comfortable and seemed much like but large than an eclipse.
I was impressed.

So do you think that is a faked picture on flightaware? Intended to be a decoy? As opposed to a recycled number? Note nosewheel off ground.?? Todd

There is an older article I read at one time about this. The exhaust is actually angled slightly up. Cirrus originally wanted a slight down angle, but this caused excessive pitch down during missed approaches/go arounds. So they moved to a slightly up angle, (but gave up a few knots airspeed in the process).

I wonder whose signatures are on the nose, just below the Cirrus logo.

'Is good to see the Tennessee flag on the tail (strake?)!

Since a new Cirrus delivery facility is under construction at TYS, I assume we're going to start seeing these around here in a year or two.

Compared to what else you can get new? Not used, new. Only thing even close to its capability and price range would be the Mirage.

Yeah, we all know you can get used better/faster/cheaper, but look at all the people who buy brand new SR-22s for $700k.
