Just weeks after running (Jennifer Aniston) ads re: the 1st-Class service & showers on their A380's, Emirates is removing 1st-class entirely ... and reconfiguring business & steerage for 615 souls.

Being trapped with that many people in such a confined space for long periods of time is why I started taking flying lessons. I just can't fly commercial.

One day I'll take a few months to fly myself around the world and see it all and then I can be done with the long distance stuff.

I have to get completely plastered when I get on one of those things. I just cant stand it. I don't trust the pilots or anyone on them suckers.

I would stop commercial travel altogether if I had to go that way.

between LA and Sydney i find the 380's to be very comfortable compared to any other option. The problem is getting through customs in time to make a connection, when 2 of them disgorge at the same time. That factor alone has pushed me back to looking for 777 flights.

Can't find it at the moment but Airbus has a design to fit an extra row of seats over your head in place of the lockers. Looks sort of like Ferris wheel seating at the three o'clock position and can push the 380 capacity towards 1000. :pullhair:

That's a fairly patronising statement to make about A380 pilots. Would you care to enlighten us as to why you 'don't trust the pilots...'

I think AF447 is the example that comes to mind when thinking of Airbus pilots. Obviously the example is not representative of the whole.

There are justified concerns about training programs that never involve flying a "real airplane".

Compared to the overall record of Bonanza pilots........
