Best of luck to them. Not an easy hill to climb.

A turbocharged 350-hp Fadec-equipped Continental engine is mounted at the rear of Valkyrie’s fuselage. Loury categorizes the airplane as a four-plus-one as the rear middle seat is designed for a small person or child. Loury expects the full fuel payload to come out around 1,200 lbs.

I believe they or someone with a similar design had a turboprop prototype. Have they a prototype flying yet?

I saw an all black Travel Air or Twin Bo (I think TB) at OshKosh one year. Baddest looking plane I've ever seen. Lord Vader, your Beechcraft is ready.

Great graphics! I wish them all the best - good to see entrepreneurs in GA. The Experimental version kits are supposed to be available in 2016.
Here is Flying's story from today: http://www.flyingmag.com/aircraft/pisto ... 0-valkyrie Evidently Mike Melvill and Mark Stucky have flown it.
Today's SF Chronicle story: http://www.sfchronicle.com/business/art ... 626142.php
Here is a brief report on the mockup they brought to Oshkosh in 2010: http://www.aero-news.net/index.cfm?do=m ... 3cbf29137d

I know actual prices always end up being higher than press release time but man, according to the website it's already gone up 10% just since the flying article today.

instrument panel serviceability looks great, but I'd think twice about opening that canopy on a gusty day

That's an awesome looking airplane! Like a Learjet, when you look at the nose from straight on, the fuselage looks like a perfect circle. I could really use some Lotto money right now! I wonder how you climb up into the cockpit?

The original price on the Eclipse jet was $800K. They never even came close to that.

That was patently absurd from the start. An unpressurized piston single for $700k is quite believable.

I think there is a difference between the Experimental version and the fully certificated version.
