After selling the trusty E18S I couldn't bear being without a round engine. The hanger floor is just too clean! So I decided to satisfy my inner child with a T-28. Figured I will never have the coin for a Mustang or the like, but with 1425 hp on tap the T-28 is a pretty nice ride. I'm still in the process of getting it all figured out, that's all part of the fun. But from what little time I have I must say the T-28 is one of the nicest and most honest flying planes I have been in. North American certainly knew how to build airplanes. Love the part in the manual that cautions that military power the fuel supply will be exhausted in approximately 45 minutes... 188 gallons!

Hi Jeff, Officially jealous of your HP. Wow what a bird. I'll keep my lowly 195 and learn her intricacies(not R rated) soon I hope.

oh- and NICE PLANE! There some things it's best we never really know.... How much we spend on our pets and planes is top of the list! Both are heavily in the red, the only consolation on the plane side is even in this down marked, the resale value is better. All kidding aside, I would guess the T-28's DOC is about $500/hr, all up probably closer to $1000. About double that of the trusty Aerostar.

I saw you the day you picked it up, we were just hanging out and saw the airplane come out of the hangar so moseyed over to see what was up. Good luck and have fun with it. Was a nice ride down. Even without the heater working I was surprised how warm it was, that big engine puts off a lot of heat!
